I got this for my daughter's room she's crazy about lights and loves them she finds them relaxing and I thought this would be ideal for birthday parties.
This is really easy to set up and use and you can use the included bracket to attach to the wall and direct the light where you wish it to be. But you don't have to use the bracket you can set this on a table and let it shine around the room just make sure you have the table near an outlet or an extension cord to power this up.
I love all the different modes on this but my favorite is the sound activated motion lights this reacts to music or voices we played with this a lot clapping and making silly noises to see what it done I love the way it reacts to different songs. You get a remote also to select the different modes. 
This is quite blinding when you look at the light itself so you would need it out of eyes reach really. The cord is quite long but to hand from the ceiling you would really have to fix an extension cord up also.
