I got this KitchenIQ 50009 Edge Grip 2 Stage Knife Sharpener for my husband to sharpen his pocket knife and some kitchen knives. This is a small and compact tool i expected it to be a little bigger than it is, but it works nonetheless. This has the option for fine and coarse sharpening, but there is a learning curve to sharpening knives. The corner cutout on the base is a great idea but again not the best option for a knife sharpening tool, accidental slips can cause scratches or nicks in counter tops.

If your blade is really dull it will take quite some time to get it back to razor-sharp. Both the coarse and fine are clearly marked so it's easy to tell them apart not only from the text but the color of the sharpener. The handle has a nice runner grip for pressing it against the side of the counter or table. While this does work it does tend to slip a little even with the rubber grip on the base and does get a little hard to hold onto and causes finger cramp from holding the small tool. I noticed it does not work on all straight edge knives. Some of the more costly knives this does not really sharpen too well but the cheaper Wal-Mart knives it works fine with. Does not really help to sharpen scissors either. But for $6 who is complaining. i know there are better versions out there but this was the best deal at the time of purchase.
